Erdinger “Pikantus” - at 7.3% , this specialty wheat beer has a
considerably higher alcohol content than other varieties
produced by Erdinger. The dark bock beer owes its sharp and
full flavour to the use of selected dark wheat and barley malts
and a significantly longer maturing process.

Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier - 4.8% a smoked beer with a distinctive palate
from kilning the malts over beechwood chips. The result is a
stunning, flavoursome beer like no other. Often likened to “smoked
bacon” and delicious either by itself or with good cold
meats and cheeses.

Schneider Weisse - 5% the classic
Wheat beer - often described as the “Champagne
of Wheat Beers”. Schneider is probably the “gentlest”
of the Weisse beers, with a light, crispness in the palette and
less of the astringent sharpness of some Weisse Beers.

Wiehenstephaner Kristall - (5.0) from the oldest Brewery in the world,
Kristall is a bold mix of bananas, lemongrass and cloves,
bubblegum from the yeast and a great hop bitterness in the
finish. The “mouth feel” is surprisingly full
bodied for such a light looking beer which is not heavily
carbonated.

Aventinus - a strong (8%) dark beer from the
same brewery as the Schneider Weisse. As
with Schneider Weisse, Aventinus is a Weisse beer but with the
added distinction of a blackcurrant fruitiness in the finish
which makes it pleasure despite its drinking “weight”.

Fruh Kolsch - (4.8%) An excellent example of the Kolsch style of beer from
Cologne. Fruh pours with a light golden amber body below a
tight, white head. The taste is refreshing, perfectly balanced
with crisp malts dominating the flavor. Fruh is similar in
style to the Pilseners from the Czech Republic with the same
brightness and crispness to it. But this is balanced with a
richer, grain/malted effect that puts it into a class of its
own.

Paulaner Weisse - 5.6% Paulaner is one of the larger German breweries
and, there is evidence of the
existence of the Paulaner brewery since
1634. It gets its unmistakable character from the
specially cultured top-fermentation yeast: Light and
flavourful, with slightly higher effervescence and unmistakably
abundant aroma. Paulaner Oktoberfest - 5.7%The original Oktoberfest beer-
golden yellow colour and light, hoppy malt - is brewed
especially for the most famous and largest public festival in
the world.

Franziskaner Heffe This mellow wheat is
one of my all time favorites. Pours cloudy, golden-yellow in
color, with a nice, fluffy head. Smells of bananas, apples and
spice with hints of pepper in there, too. The taste is smooth
and not overpowering, making this a good choice to share with
those new to Hefe Weizens.

|
Augustiner Dunkel - brewed for Lent, "Dunkel"
is a dark, strong beer with a slight "smoke" in the
palate. This dark lager from the Augustiner brewery shows a
thick, creamy head with a light carbonation and very dark,
almost black hue. The sweet and hoppy aroma produces a scent of
molasses. This beer has a mild texture and tastes strong and
sweet, with a hint of coffee flavor. Malty flovors definitely
dominate this brew, but they are accompanied by a bit of a
burnt aroma and a hint of chocolate. Quite a dry beer overall
with a hint of smokiness in the finish.
